  • Mentioned circumstances

I'm warning you: those pics are taken by my moble-phone's camera when I supposed to jog..
So, please, don't be so cruel

    Feed station
    KittenLanding

PS. Love to take pics with cats. Do that for about two years and call it hunting. My children are totaly invected that passion and scream always 'Mum cat! Behind that car! Take it! Quikly! It's running!'
Anyway, got Polish, Czech, American and now British cats in my collection and you know what? Maybe they differ, some of them are bigger, some spotted but all with that grace

  • Beautiful circumstances of the nature

I'm back from my jogging alongside the river (third day of my new resolution.. I'm so proud of myself..)
But how can I do my daily excersise between those all swimming, flying and walking birds, sneaking cats and wagging children? I just can't and I stop at every fascinating momenth.
Yesterday I saw from 50 metres distance that one of grey herons  tried to touch down the path few times but from some reason it couldn't and balanced dangerously above water.
It was on my way so I finnaly found what's going on..
Every time when the heron attempted to land some crow rose from grass and catched wings of much bigger bird.
It was unusual cruel ballet in the air.
Shame that I had no my camera but from the other side I don't think  I could  take  that  picture.
It  stays only in my memory
    and in your imagination.

My first words are inspirated by some line from polish movie from 1970  titled "The Cruise" (Rejs) directed by Marek Piwowski.
It's cultic film with very absurdal sense of humour.

  • Diverses

    Last reading
Although I tried, I still read only in my native.
    I'm too impatient, I'm afraid.

Just finish  Robert McLiam Wilson's "Eureka Street".

Quite nice, I like male view, male kind of writing, maybe it's generalization but I think it's more universal.
Of course, there are exceptions like Margaret Atwood or polish poetress Wislawa Szymborska but mostly women write to much.. female.
Funny but my next choice it's "Out of Africa" of Karen Blixen.
First chapter behind me (may I say that like that?)

    Polish titles
Someday someone responcible will be hanged for translations of titles mostly from English.
These are not only my words.
For example, meantioned "Eureka Street" was printed as "Ulica marzycieli" what means "Street of dreamers".

I can multiply instances and doesn't matter is it book, movie, sitcom or soap-opera
    Dirty dancing - Twirlin' sex
Imagine how many teenagers couldn't watch it..
    Terminator - Electronical Murderer

    The worst are rhyming:
Full Monty -Goło i wesoło - Naked and funny
Grosse Point Black -Zabijanie na śniadanie -Killing for breakfast
High Fidelity -Przeboje i podboje -Hits(music sense) and hits(sexual)
Is it a curse on John Cusack?

O, that last one reminded me about another one tendence -different titles for book edition.
Nick Hornby's novel showed up as "Wiernosc w stereo'' i.e. "Fidelity in stereo". Nice, isn't it?
And another: J. Irving's"The Cider House Rules" is translated word-for-word but movie got new standard..
It's "Wbrew regułom" that is "Against the rules" $%*!!%#^%^@#&*&!!!
    THAT'S CHANGE EVERYTHING, ISN'T IT?!

    Addictions
I've never smoked, I don't drink to much and I totaly faithful to my husband.
But if I have to much time, I usualy have, I can easy fall into some dependence.
I can play patience by hours, watch sitcomes or surf  in  web.
And nothing can't stop me until I finish that somehow.
Now I discovered On Demand TV.
    I know I'm miserable.

  • Sunday

    As I promised..

Nearly week ago I've read about May Fayre and puppets festival at the Covent Garden.
    Something definitevely what kids like.
Becouse parade was going to start at 10.30 am we woke up early, had some breakfast, set out and reached St. Paul's Church before 10. Not bad. We have some time for looking around and listening classical music (nice  string quartet was playing  Vivaldi's "Four seasons").
Nothing showed something else will happen so I was thinking franticly is it this day?
Then some people was gathering in front of the church so we joined.
There was a performer in the circle starting his show.
In the meantime my doughter sat at the foot of the collumn, she was looking very cute so I took her a picture

At the foot of the collumn

and then my 15 seconds of fame happen..
'Do you know this child' asked me the performer.
    I nodded abashly
'Why? You don't recognize her at home?'
'Oh. She grows so fast' I cast as the answer.
'You should take pics of stranger'
'Ok' I said aiming at him so he posed to me

    The performer

His show was very very funny but unfortunately at 10.30 the parade finnaly started and he couldn't finish his sketch with cigarette.
    I hope meet him again.
As we expected the parade was lovely.
There was a man  with bowler hat and umbrella at the start,  next brass band, Pearly Kings wearing button-threaded suits and few clowns.
We went somewhere through Covent Garden with them and some people like us.

    The May Fayre Parade

    Another parade pic

    Keep serious and smile

At  the end we  came  back  to the  St . Paul's  Church  where  Puppets  Fest  started  and  we  stayed  watch  few   plays.
As you can see my kids had fun

  • Saturday

I take every folders and leaflets which can help me discover London.
What is obvious for old Londoners it's sometimes difficult to find for us, immigrants.
Last time I took maps with Thames path walks and my hubby noticed the Greenwich Foot Tunnel.
The plan was simple: we take DLR train to Canary Warf and go along river path to the tunnel.
Of course it wasn't so simple especially with children but they get used to. We always got idea like this.
So we took the train and left at the station. Outside we met a group of people lookig up and making pics.
It came in that it's an action 'Reach for the sky', charity for a canser research.
    Reach for the sky
We stayed few minutes admiring peoples brave and moved to find the Thames. Our map turned up very simplified, very confusing becouse there isn't one water-basin but thanks this we went into cute Jubilee Park.
Finnaly we took a good direction and got the river.
We walk by Mill Wall, turned on Westferry Rd and back to path.
Then we discovered a place where the Great Eastern was built and there we stayed for a rest.
    Shipyard
It will always a mistery for me, why childrem are tired walking straight way and full of strength finding a place like that above:)
It wasn't far to the tunnel so we found it soon with another occasion to make children happy again:)

After our ford we ate something among many tourists, mostly German speaking teenagers and we moved back.
I realy don't konw how we found forces to buy shoes for my daughter..

  • Broadband's problems

Unfortunately I was off-line few days.
Now I have some backwardness to make for.
Some posts to write, some post to read, some pics to put in.
    Some things I like :)

  • Sunny day with cloudy evening

Finnaly home alone, I can post sth.

I woke up from the dream, another version of a dream from about month ago.
    First:
I was in Poland and I couldn't back to London and I regreted. I opened my eyes and rested with relief very suprised that I like my new life so much.
    Yesterdays:
Almost this same but I blamed my husband :)

After soft-boiled eggs for breakfast we set out to the Green Park for a
    sunny-do-nothing.
    Almost gropingly in this ligth
    I took some pics of
    people resting

    Sunny Bank Holiday

    people eating
    Take away

and some pics of my mostly runnig kids
    Difficult to catch

But this nice day had  realy unpleasant  ending..
I was barbequeing with my hubby and chose bad way to say that it was nice day with relaxing walk and eating out.
Bad way becouse I added that I miss that and we should do that often...
I don't know why but he took personal and he was sorry so I was sorry also, and we needed some time to back to our 'Bold & Beautiful' marriage
What can I do.. I have got very sensitive second half..

  • Busy easy day

I spent day at our concrete garden trying to change it somehow.
I like it, there are three trees, my neighbours have bushes and it's green around but there isn't many places to plant so I use pots.

    Succulents' pot

At the front for covering a corner with huge heavy bricks I decided to make a rock-garden.
Still modificating.. but currently looks like that

    Rock garden

Now, we're cooking polish famous BIGOS..
I mean.. my husband is cooking but I'm the chef

PS. Bigos is realy famous last time -BBC announced  its recipe:) I must check it
